Intel E3-1200 v6: a family of low-end Xeon processors with Kaby Lake architecture
Today, Intel revealed details about its new
10-nanometer process technology (which we will soon devote to a separate
publication) and added to the list of processors with the latest Kaby Lake architecture
family Xeon E3-1200 v6.
Like the
i3, i5 and i7 designations, the processors of the Core family (intended for
personal computers), E3, E5 and E7 for the Xeon family (which in turn is
addressed to servers and workstations) characterize the performance with the
price. Therefore, in the case of Xeon E3-1200 v6, it
is the youngest, budget category, represented by the following processors:

As you can see from the table, the new versions have
increased frequency (and correspondingly performance) while reducing power
consumption. The prices of new models are
not reported.
